from there. These are solid mech-
anics and the video angles are real
good. If you're into it, it's the
place to be.

I joined for a month to try it out and have been busy downloading the vid's and lessons. Thanks again.

On a side note to Peter and any other Chicagoans: We're (The Drum Pad) is having Johnny Rabb, Giovanni Hidalgo, Wil Calhoun and Doug Wimbush, Virgil with Planet X, and I also heard about a Holdsworth, Wackerman, Johnson thing we may be doing. I think there are other booked and pending clinics I'm forgetting too.

We average 12 or so clinic/concerts a year. If you haven't been to one of our clinics, the artists often say we do the best job of anyone, anywhere. We go to great lengths with these events, including pro sound and lights. We have built Portnoy's Siamese Monster kit - exact - from custom hardware mods he uses down to the logo heads. Portnoy was stunned to say the least. The kit we created for Mangini that was, believe it or not, much bigger - 40 feet wide, his kit in the middle, with pedals linked to a righty jazz setup and a lefty carbon fiber/maple Masterworks hard rock set, (including a kitchen sink and a plunger!!!). The vid clips of Virgil's Chicago clinics at his site were shot at one of our clinics. Most are these will be within a few days of each other. I'll try and get another lesson with Wackerman and maybe Virg. One of the perks of teaching there.

I've been to all the one's we've sponsored or helped promote, even the Rory's Planet X show in Addison. I missed the Martyr's show, I had a gig. I was at the Martyr's Kimotion Vinnie gig (you once mentioned having been there) and saw them with Tom Hipskind (Kimo's other guy and a bud of mine) a couple of times. BTW, I saw Tom with Kick the Cat and Town Sound the day before yesterday at Lyon's Den. I've been to a lot of the Vital Info gigs we've helped promote, or put on too. I'm sure we've been at the same events but have just never met.

I don't think I answered your question. Yep, I was there. And at the first Cutting Hall Planet X show we did, and was with Virgil when we had Portnoy in the store to do autographs.

What's up fellow Chicagoland dudes? I suppose Planet X will be at Nellie's, eh? Cool room! I'm new to this board, but I already love it. Maybe we can have a little Midwest chapter of the HOD hang!
